Bhumika (1977)

I watched this movie after coming back from work and God was it an awesome movie or what? :) Smita Patil is mindblowing in this movie and no wonder she got a National award for this and Shyam Benegal has rocked too. Its a total offbeat movie and well ahead of its time. Smita Patil has gotten into each of her characters in a very brilliant way and she looked G-R-E-A-T. My rating: 10/10 :) I was an Amol Palekar fan but after watching this movie I'm a Smita Patil fan as well!!
Okay just looked at Wiki and this one is really impressive and more reasons for people to watch this movie -
The film won two National Film Awards and Filmfare Best Movie Award, it was invited to Carthage Film Festival 1978, Chicago Film Festival, where it was awarded the Golden Plaque 1978, and in 1986 it was invited to Festival of Images, Algeria
Another scoop - Prateek is Smitha and Raj Babbar's son who has made his debut in Jaaney Tu Ya Jaaney Naa as Genelia's brother!! ;)

Johnny Johnny Yes Paapa

So we went out to watch this movie "Yes Man" and that was "yes"terday :P ... now-a-days I see the Cinemark Movies10 a.k.a "The Dollar Theatre" flooded with people. Blame it on the economic crisis :( ... but its good to see fellow humans around you in the flesh and not in the cars ;) The movie was hillarious ... and why not when we've Jim Carrey :) ... but it was an okay movie... sometimes it got too cheesy... and somethings were predictable... but all in all a good Saturday evening timepass...

Farewell...

We only part to meet again. ~John Gay
Sounds cheesy? Might be true... b/c I live in the present and would be more than happy to meet my old friends and acquaintances but it hasnt really happened with me ... fortunately or unfortunately. It was Purva's farewell last Friday and I love the concept of people coming together be it a farewell or whatever. Well, it started out to be a flop as we headed to PF Chang's and couldnt find a space for 22 people. PF Changs remind me of something which I'm trying to forget :P but I cant forget the lettuce wraps ;) ... thats the reason I chose PF Changs to be THE place. Anyway, we ended up in an equally better place ... it was Thai... I know its like comparing apples and oranges but who cares ... we all enjoyed the food and had fun... which we wouldnt have had in that oh-so-crowded PF Changs ... thats what matters in the end correct? :)
